My Glasgow Kitchen

My Little Corner of the World

I had a packet of lentils that was going to expire and decided to cook everything at one go to ensure I don’t waste it. Piglet isn’t a fan of lentils so I have not been cooking it.

I soaked the lentils for about an hour and boiled then simmer it for half an hour. After that, drained it and cool it. It was stored in the fridge and will be consuming it over the weekend.

Yesterday I tried making a lentil curry using tumeric

This is a really basic recipe. I have been cooking the rice version since university. I really like it with some white pepper but did not have it in my pantry. This time, I am using lentil as a rice substitute.

Egg Fried Lentils

Ingredients

1 cup of cooked lentils

1 egg

1 tbs chopped garlic

1 tbs light soy sauce

1.Heat up oil and brown garlic

2. Stir in lentils for 1 min and add soy sauce

3. After a few minutes, beat egg and pour it pan

4. Stir it until egg is cooked

The lentils really absorb the flavour of the soy sauce so it taste pretty good.

Hmm… How would Egg Fried Oats taste like? My oats is going to expire soon too.
