This is a really simple and appetizing dish. I used to stir fry it with garlic, pepper and sugar. It goes well with plain rice, porridge or beef noodle soup.

This time I fried it with tofu and tomato and split it into two servings. I was planning to cook a tofu dish and wanted leftovers to go with plain rice for lunch tomorrow.

If it is not too salty, the soaking process is not required. If you bought it, you might need to soak it for a few hours.

Salted Vegetable

I made some homemade salted vegetable/ fermented mustard green but it was way too salty so I soaked it.

You can add other ingredients into it also: minced pork, pork belly, mushroom, carrot, tomato. Seasoning or spices to add: star anise, pepper, cooking wine, 5 spice powder.


Stir Fried Salted Vegetable Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup salted vegetable

2 tomato

5 blocks firm tofu

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp shao xing wine

1 tbsp cooking oil


Method

Heat up oil and brown garlic. Stir in salted vegetable, tofu and tomato. Add wine and cook for 5 mins.
