I have decided to add some fun into breadmaking and bought stencils recently. It is more fail safe compared to the art of scoring since I am just a beginner.

Bought the usual plastic stencil set online. It is mainly floral designs.

Stenciling 100% Rye Sour Dough Bread (8th attempt at baking sour dough bread)

Flour for stenciling:
  • Rice flour: Turn out whiter compared to bread flour after being baked in the oven.
  • Cocoa powder: gives it a darker tone.

Other equipment

Use a silicone brush and a sift to spread out the flour.
